MEN’S RIGHT MOVEMENT

MEN’S RIGHT MOVEMENT

INTRODUCTION:-
We all know about women right movements or women empowerment and all those stuffs which are being done for the betterment of the women in our society. But maybe most of us don’t know there is a thing called Men’s right movement which is a campaign to provide justice to the men who are being ill-treated or wrongly convicted in various women molestation crimes.
ISSUES:-
In India the law is biased when it comes to women molestation cases. For example Anti-Dowry laws, Divorce and child custody laws, Domestic violence, Rape reporting laws, Sexual harassment laws etc. In urban areas and cities a man is arrested just on the basis of a FIR filled against claiming that he has done some women molestation. In most of the cases they are arrested without any proof of their crime. Such is the effect of women empowerment activities and feminism in our society. Please note that I am talking about cities only. This may not be the case of the rural areas of India.

EFFECT:-
Not only the law is biased our mentality is also biased. Every time a molestation incident comes out in a college, school or in our workplace by default the guy is guilty. It is well said that In India a woman is always innocent until proven guilty and a guy is always guilty until proven innocent. This biased approach towards accused men is encouraging some dishonest people to take advantage. Because of this a lot of people are committing suicide. I will just present a set of information to give you a clear view.

This table is taken from the report of NATIONAL CRIME REPORT BUREAU, 26th July 2015.

CONCLUSION:-
Now days we talk about gender equality. But please remember that gender equality means treating both male and female equally. The moment we become biased about any group of gender the whole concept of gender equality vanishes.
