HANDICAPPED

HANDICAPPED

I was returning from the railway station after returning from my trip to Birnagar. The events of the trip is irrelevant to the incident I am going to state now. I got down at sealdah station which was at the time packed with men. It was hard to keep up with my mom's pace as she was being pushed forward by a flock of human. It was turning out to be quiet an ordeal for me to catch up to my mother. When I did reach up to her, I was almost panting. My mother all of a sudden pointed at a couple talking to each other and revealed to me something which compelled me to write about it. She said the neither of the said couple didn't have an eyesight. What amazed me that despite such adverse situation in the station, they didn't let go of each other. More so, i was surprised to find that they expressed to each other what they felt through their other senses. Needless to say, they relied on each other and didn't leave each other even for another second. Something that is missing nowadays in people who are privileged enough to lead a normal life. They are blessed with everything a human needs. Yet what they lack now is a heart. The only way of expression of love most of the times are now done away with some messages in Facebook or whats app. The social media witnesses a lot of babus and shonas. But does anyone have the guts to love someone despite her faults. His or her defects. We always look for rich men coming down with their BMW. Who in this world will accept a physically challenged person if he isn't that rich to clench your thirst for money. Such love hardly exists. Then how is it that this blind couple stick to each other. Is it because they are blind? Or because they have no one to rely on. Maybe they are just handicapped because they lack eyes and maybe we are handicapped  because we lack a heart.

YET TO MEET

YET TO MEET

I am yet to meet her,
The one entangling me with her hair,
The one binding me with her smile,
Her soul that is so pure and divine,
Yet to see someone who has that kind of chime.

I am yet to meet her,
And grasp her hands for eternity.
I want to be blessed by her warmth,
And a strong love that can drive me to insanity.

I am yet to meet her,
Yet to kneel down before her,
Promise a thousand stars to her
Flowers and love is what I can shower.
Until I wither and wrinkle,
Until I have lost every teeth,
Even when my cold body lies underneath the ground,
I wish to feel her warmth and heat.

Sinner

SINNER

His hands were filled with his beloved's blood. Tonight, he killed her beloved with a knife. She, was in deep slumber when this happened. The man loved his woman deeply. But the Lord forbade them to live together. Their house made of grass and woods was isolated from the city. His lady who was promised to be well fed by him now hardly had a proper one time meal. Lenders queued up to get their money back. The couple was helpless. The lady frail yet bore a pained smile. This smile of hers seemed to mock her husband. He couldn't make her happy. Neither could she provide a suitable lifestyle. Not knowing a way out, he decided to free both of them. That night, when the crickets stopped their movements and went to sleep, he woke up with a knife in his hand. His eyes had pain and tears almost welled up there. His wife was sound asleep. He cried, as he pierced the knife inside her stomach. Blood oozed out from there. She woke up in pain, on realizing that she was awake, he put a hand to cover her from shouting and killed her. Looking at her face filled with fear, made him feel ashamed of himself. He was a sinner now. He committed a sin, that was u forgivable both for the law and for Humanity. But he was helpless. Poverty made him choose this path. He then pierced the knife inside his own stomach. With tears in eyes, he fell beside her. That night he killed two lives-hers and their child's who was inside her womb. Hoping to be free both from this sin and poverty, he escaped the earth, forever.

FALL

FALL

I lived in a fairy tale, where the princess had nothing but happiness around her. I lived in a place where I was free of devilish sins. The intoxicating ambiance couldn't intrude my peace. I danced and danced in the endless fall. The grace of goodwill surrounded me. I ceased to care about negativity. But I had forgotten, that in every fairy tale, there exists an evil witch. There exists evil power in every realm. The one who will give you a poisonous apple or someone who will wish for your demise. The skies will become darker and the leaves will shed their color. The flowers will droop down and it shake every nerve of yours. They will use their evil mirrors to destroy you and take a disguise that will kill your individuality. But I won't give up. I won't let the evil queen win. I will emerge as a warrior. A fighter who fights for the goodwill. Someone who can hold the reign in her own hands. I won't let the evil queen win. Not now not ever
